Hello world?
I have stopped watching news on T.V. because i am sure of seeing a news item about corruption. These stories are all over the world and the saddness i feel is just beyond me. As a way of protecting my emotions i have resulted to ignoring news, i guess burying my head in the sad and assuming that the problem of corruption will one day just dissappear. The reality of the matter is that EVIL PROSPERS WHEN GOOD DOES NOTHING. Today marks an important day because i have made a deliberate decision that GOOD WILL HAVE TO PROSPER BECAUSE THE GOOD WILL NO LONGER SIT AND DO NOTHING. I am currently doing a masters programme in the university of queensland and i have been truly provoked to think about how i can move a private concern to the public domain. As a parent, a career woman, a wife, a student i desire to join hands with others who think that honesty can go a long way to reducing corruption amongst our societies. We need to encourage it, to applaude it and to strategically enshrine it in all spheres of our lives in order to reduce and eventually eradicate corruption from our countries. Those who think that encouraging an honest mindset is a major strategy that can reduce corruption, please stand up and be counted.

kind regards

mary

  1. Hi Mary - Oh this post rang bells for me - I often get news overload and have to turn off the news, refuse to glance at papers and switch off radios. It's like a heart overload. Your comments reminded me of the first week of class and Sandra's comments about needing to respond with something other than despair. Yours is a hopeful space to counter the dark. i wish you well.
